Flawless production by Dre and Jeff/Mark Bass and Eminem himself.Took a while to type on mobile.įor the longest time TES was my favorite Eminem album, it was the first album I ever got of Eminem (my mum bought me it, I was 12 when it came out) It is probably the most appealing Eminem album commercially speaking. Then were back to the mmlp with kamikaze, which isnt as intense (probably because hes sober and older now, and it's not appropriate to lash out like he used to) It just felt like a really inbetween album, with nothing to set it apart like his last ones. It doesnt feel like any of his personas either. I think it's because You dont connect with it, which is because it lacks something special.
But there's just something about it that makes you go. He talks about having nothing left to rap about in walk on water and you can really tell through the whole album. Then we had revival, which felt like encore if eminem was sober. It felt focused if anything, but it did lack the special touch his last albums had. The mmlp2 felt like a victory lap, another "nothing left to prove" album but it's more like hes showing off now, rather than just putting together an album. He was gonna release the king mathers lp and be done with rap, but then he od'd and decided to make a comeback.Īfter relapse wasnt that great he went to great lengths to impress everyone with recovery, which felt really solid if a little pop. He was unfocused and really had nothing left to rap about. I think that really culminated in encore and that's why encore was so bad. But again, this is eminem with nothing left to prove, no more real milestones in rap. It's not my favourite because it just feels. The eminem show was eminem, him without anything left to prove just making an album that's technically impressive with its lyrics and solid with his delivery.
It has so much raw emotion as he lashes out at all the critics and even his own label, and even though in my opinion his lyrics weren't as technically impressive, his delivery was always flawless and it really cemented him as one of the goats. I think that they're all different extremes of eminem's personas.
